Ahh, I've been tagged!

O.K. so here are the rules...
1. Link the person who tagged you
2. Post these rules
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers

My "endearing quirks", only 6 to share eh... I fear I have many more than that.  :)

1. I have no tolerance for discomfort, hot, cold, hungry, tired, you name it, it makes me grumpy.  I would LOSE Survivor big time because they'd kick my tired, hungry, hot, grumpy self right off.
2. I, like my sister, Jenny, have a space issue! Les, my boss from UT, will remember this clearly.  We'd go to a training and I'd have to move my chair away from hers, not because she smelled, but because I need my space.  I am not a hugger, kisser or a close talker, take two steps back when you talk to me or I will.
3. I think my theme song is, "I'm in a hurry to get things done", it goes on to say "I rush and rush until life's no fun", it also talks about not knowing why I'm in a hurry.  I think that word comes out of my mouth to my children at least 50 times a day.  I rush Kai to eat breakfast and get ready in the morning just so he has time before we have to leave....
4.I am obsessive compulsive about a clean house.  It seriously makes me mental to have a cluttered house.
5. I also have a compulsion for bargain shopping.  I even dream about bargains in my sleep.
Sick and wrong.
6. I have to serve "fresh" food to my company. For instance, I cannot make it the night before even if it will be alright overnight because I want it to be hot out of the oven when I serve it. I don't want it to be "day old", they throw stuff out at the bakery because it's day old!

Let's see, who to tag, Melanie M., Jenni S., Jamie B., Jenni W., Lynn D., Laura B.

Pumpkin carving with the neighbors

This is our third annual pumpkin carving with our good friends, our neighbors.  We ate a yummy dinner, decorated cookies and carved pumpkins.  I think Kaden ate a pound of candy corn.  Can we say "sugar hangover" tomorrow?  The boys love playing with Emily.

Trunk or Treat

We went to our annual trunk or treat/chili cook off tonight at the church.  The kids look forward to it every year.  The bounce house was the favorite but eating Krispy Kremes off strings ranked right up there too.

HELP!

I put Kaden in the tub last night and like a good mom was trying to get Kai's reading time in at the same time.  I can mutli task right?  I was just a room away and heard Kaden frantically say, "my toy" and then heard the toilet flush! He flushed a bath toy down the toilet.  I had to hurry out to ward council so didn't really  have time to deal with it, I just advised the boys to use the other bathroom.  We're all good until this morning.  Kaden, being as independent as he is, quietly disappeared while I was getting Kai breakfast and decided to go #2 in that toilet.  Then Kai got the flu and "hurled" his breakfast.
As I was plunging, Kai, cheering me on from the tub said, "Do it harder mom, it can break the whole wide sewer, that would be awesome".
Has anyone had to retrieve a bath toy from the toilet before?  We are wondering if Matt won't have to take the whole toilet apart??? Trust me, I'll plunge all day but those little plastic bath toys are just the right size to stop up the drain.

Best Buddies

Kai and Hunter both had 8:00 games last night (playing other teams). I was happy to finally get them together for a picture in uniform.  They met in preschool last year and immediately became best friends.  They go to different schools this year so we try and get them together as often as our schedules allow.

I AM OPTIMUS PRIME!

I have always been able to pick out my kids' Halloween costumes for them, but this year Kai was determined to be a transformer, specifically Optimus Prime.  I looked at all the stores for this costume and the ones they have out this year are CHEESY.  I got online and looked on e-bay and found one I liked and they were EXPENSIVE.  Thanks to Craigslist I got Optimus Prime for $10. "Transformers, robots in disguise..."

We made history!

We have long awaited this moment.  When we moved to Jacksonville 3 years ago from Colorado we were sorely disappointed that there was no Chipotle, the best burrito joint ever.  Matt even sent in a proposal to Chipotle (pictures and all) letting them know where they could build one here (that's how desperate we were).  We were so excited when we heard the news that we were getting not only one but two Chipotle's in Jacksonville!! We were among the first to enter it's doors this morning at 11:00 a.m.  Everyone in line seemed to be a "transplant" to the area having eaten at Chipotle somewhere else in the U.S.  Not a parking spot to be had when we left at 11:30.
Goodbye Moes!

Florida living at it's finest!

So I turn the corner as I am making my nightly clean up rounds and what do I see?  You got it, Ricky the Roach! This is on the INSIDE of my kitchen door.  Les, this picture is for you.  I know you couldn't believe that I'd have a roach in my house but here ya go! Like what do they possibly think they are going to find to eat in my house! Sorry Timi but if they get in the house it's an ultimate death wish, death by vacuum or bottle of Raid. I take no chances, when I say bottle, I mean bottle, nobody gets out alive.

Proud Mom Moment

I just have to share...
Kai had a game cancelled on Thursday night due to the weather.  It was going to be against his best friend, Hunter's team (the one game we REALLY wanted to play this season).  The coach wanted to reschedule the game for Sunday so I e-mailed and told him our preference would be Wednesday.  Today at the park the coach was talking about a Sunday game to the kids and Kai was the ONLY child to speak up and say, "coach Joe, we go to church on Sunday, I can't play on Sunday".  He kept trying to get his coaches attention, "Coach Joe, I go to church on Sunday".  I was so proud that at such a young age he'd stand up for his beliefs! :)

What's wrong with this picture?

Can you tell me what the date is today, October 9 and we are STILL swimming?? This is for those of you who woke up to 27 degree weather this morning.

The morning wouldn't have been complete without these

Since we had to get up so early this morning I decided to go pick up a treat.  We are fortunate to live close to the local Krispy Kreme.  Since it's fall, they are now serving their pumpkin spice cake doughnuts, YUM!

By the light of the moon

Kai literally played by the light of the moon last night.  It has been a "heavy" t-ball week.  He had late practice Thursday night and didn't get home until 9, a game Friday night that didn't start until 8 (it was around 10 that the kids got to bed) and then we had to turn around and have him back there by 7:45 this morning for pictures and another game.  His team won both games they played.

Jaw Dropping Moment

Just when I thought I had it rough with my two year old...

I just have to share.  When I went to pick Kai up today from school there was a woman there picking up her 3rd grader.  Beside her was a stroller with 4 children in it.  I started talking to her and found out the ages of her children.  She has an 8 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old, 1 year old and triplets turning 1.  She had her triplets when her baby was a mere 9 mos. old.
I know I had to pick my jaw up off the floor.  I kept asking her, "how old are your kids again"? She either has a REALLY good sense of humor or good drugs, I am betting on the latter.

"Groundhog Day"

So I feel like I've been stuck in the movie "Groundhog Day" this week.  Same thing over and over just a different day, nothing real exciting going on.  Kaden and I ventured out to the Town Center this morning.  The first couple shots are at the pond.  About a year ago (when Kaden was 18 mos. old) Kai was bent over looking at the fish and Kaden leaned out of his stroller, gave him a push and in he went.  Pretty funny moment, you should've seen the look on Kai's face.  The next pic is in Pottery Barn kids.  Kaden LOVES to go in there and play, problem is getting him out.  We've left the store many times with him kicking and screaming, my blood pressure rising in the mean time.  Kerry, the Dillards photo is for you.  It really is the best Dillards I've ever lived close to, beats the "D" mall in CO Springs.  :) No killer finds today but thanks for your call.
