From Drab to "Fab"

I took on yet another painting adventure and did the dining room last week. It really changed the whole look of the room, I am pleased with how it turned out.

And this makes three

Matt recently assisted Kai in pulling his 3rd tooth! I was in the other room and heard it bounce across the floor. Kai was brave, not a complaint or tear. As much as it grosses Matt out he still continues to assist Kai with his tooth pulling. He is able to do it quick and painlessly. Maybe he missed his calling in life as a dentist?! Kai looks so cute running into home plate, grinning with this big ol' gaping hole in the front of his mouth.

Rotten Sandwich

Every day Kaden and I pick Kai up from school and we can see him through the doors before he even walks out. He most always is anxious to greet us unless he "got his card flipped" (meaning he wasn't listening or was doing something he shouldn't) that day and then his head hangs down. I don't even need to ask him. Anyway, today he came straight out the door and said in ALL SERIOUSNESS, "mom, you gave me a rotten sandwich today, the bread was brown" and I assured him that I didn't, but that I sent WHEAT bread instead of white. He said he didn't like it (my guess is he didn't even try it). My picky, picky, ocd little boy (wonder where he gets it from). He saw it wasn't the "same" as every other day and went into panic mode. It was pretty cute though and had the other teachers who overheard laughing.

Cake Anyone?

I bought this cookbook for my sister who loves to experiment with new recipes. Before I sent it off though I decided I'd try a few of the yummiest looking recipes, one of them being a chocolate truffle cake. I spent my WHOLE Sunday afternoon (following a hundred different steps and going through an enormous amount of ingredients) just to throw it away. It looks just like the picture but it wasn't very good AT ALL. That's kind of one of the reasons I don't like to experiment with recipes. I love to cook/bake but usually I only try a recipe if I've tasted it first or have a very reliable source tell me it's a good recipe and so I bid farewell to "Southern Living Christmas Cookbook".

Little Giants

We have begun another season of tee ball. This time Kai and his best friend, Hunter, are on the same team. I don't know if it had to do with Matt putting that they were step brothers on the application so they'd put them together or not. Whatever, we're happy. The first game was a little rough but last night the team did well. Kai got to play 3rd base and he was really excited about that. He typically plays in the outfield (which I am just fine with). He tends to play in the sand though when he is out there left to his own devices. Kaden looks forward to getting his "flushy" (slushy) each game and now has Suzie to play with so he's happy.
